Location: 16710 Ranch Rd 965, Fredericksburg TX
Located 17 miles north of quaint bed-and-breakfast hamlet Fredericksburg, Texas, Enchanted Rock is an easily accessible granite dome located in Texas Hill Country. It’s the “largest pink granite monadnock” in the United States. For the record, WordPress’s spellcheck does not recognize the word “monadnock” and yes, I had to look up the meaning too.
The rock sits about 425 feet above the surrounding terrain, and makes for a great vantage point to take landscape photos, sunset photos, and people watch.

And if you’re worried the climb may be too steep, we witnessed a little old lady make the ascent, in flip flops, without breaking a sweat. The site is not exactly concealed from public knowledge. In fact, the line to get in is often quite crowded. But, as a place to take quality photos, it’s one of my personal favorites.
